World Aids Day Dec.1,2012

World Aids Day

The fight continues to save our communities from this epidemic. HIV/Aids has taken the lives of many love ones since the 80's, although we have made great leaps in the fight we still have a ways to go. Let's continue to help educate and promote awareness that this disease still exist and it still destroys. The advancement in technology and pharmaceutical companies have invented medications that allow people to live long, healthy, and normal lives, but the struggle continues due to the lack of education. It need to be taught in school, churches, and community outreach centers.

Today I will take time to reflect and remember two of my best friends who lost their battle with AIDS. Although its been 17 years for one and 11 years for the other, it still hurts as if it was yesterday. I've never met any friends like you two since. I love and miss you Keeling and Nijel.

No Motivation

I've been meaning to post a new blog but I have not had the motivation to write. There are some many current events to discuss and talk about, but I don't have the motivation to write. The DNC was phenomenal and First Lady Michelle Obama did her thing as well as former President Bill Clinton, but I don't have the motivation to write. We lost such a great actor recently Micheal Clark Duncan, who by the way should have been nominated and won an Oscar for The Green Mile, but I don't have the motivation to write. I'm so excited that Ricki Lake is back on TV with her talk show, yes I love "The Ricki Lake Show" back in the day, but I don't have the motivation to write. I'm in love with the new reality show on TVOne, "R&B Divas", but again I don't have the motivation to write. Dr Phil Show is doing great things with high profile interviews he has been doing lately, (Travon Martin's family 2 days in a row, Robert Blake) but I don't have the motivation to write. Presidential candidate Mitt Romney is truly making an ass of himself repeatedly, but I don't have the motivation to write. I've been really depressed lately feeling like all hope is gone, but I don't have the motivation to write.

There are so many things going on in this country that I could talk to you all forever but I'm in a place of darkness. I am working towards getting back to a happy place so until then just know I'm keeping my eyes and ears open to all that is going on in our culture. I don't have the motivation to attend any elite parties or red carpet events but I do know about them so maybe someway somehow I'll be able to report my findings on such events to you all. Oh, btw I am going to a all star live gospel recording in a week so maybe that will be my motivation. I'm only going cause I'm supposed to be getting in the VIP section so that means I need a fabulous outfit (lol), definitely we blog about it.

Until next time encourage yourselves

I Have A Story To Tell

I HAVE A STORY TO TELL

I have a story to tell
A story of pain, hurt, and prayer
I want to tell you, but will you understand
What I’ve gone through has made me a man

This story I want to tell
Is so devastating and true
I’ve only shared it with a few
I have a story to tell

I’ve tried to tell it, but the time hasn’t been right
Maybe I will today or tomorrow
Or it might be better late in the night
All I know is that I have a story to tell

Some may say I’m crazy and some may not
But it’s something that’s killing me within
I just want to scream until no end
All I know is that I have a story to tell

I need to rid myself of this pain
Because it’s driving me insane
I fear many men because of it
When one comes near it’s like a fire has been lit

I’ve cried many nights of anger
This story within is causing danger
A story untold that needs to unfold
A story that’s harsh and mostly cold

Beware of stories like this
Because it could very well be missed
Hold your young close to you
Before they become one of the few

This untold story of hurt and pain
Is like a man chasing cocaine
It will consume your life
It can hurt and kill your wife

For an untold story such as this
Will continue to linger in the mist
It whispers softly in your ears
It also has hurt some of your peers

Until I decide to tell this story
Hold your young close
And treasure their innocent glory
For I’m not ready to tell this untold story

I have a story to tell, but wait
It will hurt a few and it will destroy some
Because I didn’t understand when it made him cum
This is part of my untold story

I should stop right here
Because this story may not be clear
Give me a little more time
Until I know that I am fine

This story will help and heal a few
For the perpetrator, he may not have a clue
But for now, beware and look out
For I’m going to tell this story with a lot of shouts

Until I tell this story I’ll sit in this chair
And continue to hope God hears my prayers
Until we meet again
Remember that I have a story to tell.

ADTV STORIES: Ashton Pina

What Is Normal?

Why is it that most gay men feel they are not normal? What is normal? This is a topic that I've heard talked about often, society has brainwashed the masses with their perception of normal. For generations people have taken a stance on what they feel is normal from slavery, interacial marriages, biracial children, ethnic equality, and sexual orientation just to name a few. If we as people were to live life according to the majority, we would be a boring and generic society full of unhappiness.

Let's take a brief look at interacial marriages: according to many people of all cultures it is a sin to marry outside of your race, now this theory of their's comes from misinterpreting the bible where "God tells his people to be separate; not to be integrated." Now just like today it was misunderstood in biblical times.
In the book of Numbers, Miriam and Aaron talked against Moses who was married to a Cushite (black woman). Due to Miriam and Aaron's self-righteous behavior, it angered God that they spoke against his prophet. Miriam would be stricken with leprosy for 7 days for her sins against Moses' marriage. (This story can be found in Numbers 12). God did say in (Deut 7:1) Israelites couldn't marry Canaanites because they were wicked idolaters. The command was based on religion not race, so interacial marriges is not a sin by God but by man.

The moral of the this post is to allow you to be happy with who God made you to be. No one can say you are not normal because of your sexuality, because you are born to be you. If everyone in the world was on the same page what would the purpose of living be. We are all suppose to love, cherish, respect, and encourage one another regardless of gender, creed, ethnic background, and social economics. If you are gay be the best damn gay person you can be, if you are straight be the best at it and leave other people's business alone. It is my opinion that there are more successful gay people than straight in the world because they are not engaging in pointless ridicule of straight folks life journey. Once we learn to control what affects our own life directly we will be a better society. I live by this statement, "Society's prejudice rejects people or things outside their understanding." Get to know people individually and learn their story before you judge.

Reality Check

I'm a avid reader of fiction, poetry, blogs, and so forth. I was intrigue recently with some articles that I read involving the alternative lifestyle. So, me being me I thought I would give my opinion on this subject of the Lgbt community. Why is it that so many people in the community have a large amount of hatred? My guess would be because they have untreated psychological issue within themselves. There are many bloggers over the web who bash the likes of some positive and influential gay bloggers due to their success and accomplishments.

Instead of displaying hatred support those in the Lgbt community that are doing great and positive things for the betterment of the community. If someone else's success angers you it's time to look in the mirror and discover where you went wrong in your own life. Life is what you make it and you get out of it what you put into it. People continue to walk around in a delusional state from every corner of this country, pretending to be the likes of The Real Housewives of Atlanta and Sex and The City characters just to name a few. While you all are being delusional others are making moves to be productive in their communities.

Stop living a life of illusion for the world just so you can gain popularity with your peers. As time goes on the illusions that you are portraying because your reality that turns to a bigger problem called delusional. When you start to hate on others achievements it's time to seek help to get out of your deluded state of mine. Everyone dose not reach success at the same level or path, some sooner others later, but whatever the case maybe stop being deluded and take control of your life; you're never to old to make a new beginning. Become someone's target of bashing because of your great success and achievements as you have done to others. Remember you are not "NeNe Leakes" or any other reality diva you may think you are. Success waits for no one you have to grab it by balls and take control.
